Enviornmental Control for Patient with House Dust Mite Allergic Rhinitis


Abstract
House dust mites(D. pteronyssinus & D. farina) are the primary source of allergen in perennial allergic rhinitis. The quantity of mite allergy in houses can be significantly altered by manipulations of the indoor environment. Environmental control as mite control procedure is ideal and effective method in management of house dust mite allergic rhinitis. Therefore the nurse¢¥s important role is to teach to patient or his family about environmental control.
House dust mites can occur in houses dust avoid light, require warmth(24-26t) and humidity(RH 75-80%) to flourish and use human skin scales as a food source. In keeping with these requirements, soft furniture, bedding, carpeting can act as a nest for mites.
The most successful environmental control on mite avoidance in the house is very strenuous efforts to cleaning of bedrooms, including removal of carpeting, vinyl covering of mattresses, and regular washing of bedding with hot water.
